GAME BIRDS

New Zealand is home to a range of game birds, each unique with their own particular characteristics and preferences.  Some of New Zealand’s game Birds are only available for hunting in New Zealand. 

The Southern Lakes region has an array of both waterfowl and upland game with the most common Waterfowl being mallard and paradise ducks and the most common Upland game being Pheasants and Californian Quail.

Hunting Seasons apply to most of our Game Birds except Canada Geese.
